Vinsanto
Description
The classic dessert wine of Santorini. The wine is vinified from grapes that are dried for nearly 2 weeks under the hot Santorini sun. Aging in old oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months. Vinsanto is the most genuine descendant of the “passon oinon”, as the sun-dried wines were called in early times. During the Middle Ages, the ancient volcano, Thira, was renamed as Santo Erini – Santorini and thus the wine took the name Vino Santo – Vinsanto, thus declaring its place of origin.

Tasting Notes
Bright, orange-golden colour, amber, as a result of the sun drying process and the extended ageing in the barrels. The nose is very aromatic, complex, with scents of dried and sugared fruit. The pallet has exquisite structure, acidity and finesse, with a strong, long-lasting aftertaste
